Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, the dishwasher supports the day-to-day operations of the kitchen by ensuring cleanliness and upkeep across all kitchen areas, dining room, bathrooms and surrounding grounds. This position contributes to creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for both guests and volunteers, helping to advance the mission of the kitchen.The hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00AM-6:00PM EST and then Saturday from 6:00AM-2:00PM EST. The Kitchen Assistant will be off Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.Core Responsibilities include:Wash and store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwashers or by handClean tables in the dining areaMaintain kitchen work areas, equipment, utensils in clean and orderly fashionStore clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areasClean and supply bathroomsSweep or scrub floorsMonitor equipment used for repairs and report to management as neededReceive and store supplies reporting to management when supplies run lowSort and remove trash and recycling, placing it in designated areasStock supplies as needed or directed
