Registered Nurse – ICU (Travel Contract)

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct ICU-level nursing care to patients including neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath populations
• Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia and emergency managementli> Perform and interpret EKG/rhythm monitoring including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial and junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2–3 and deliver care in accordance with unit protocols
• Float to Stepdown Unit and, as needed, to ED or Med-Surg to care for ICU patients being held in those areas
• Complete required pre-start orientation modules prior to first day of assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong neurology experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and stroke care
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records — no exceptions
• Must pass a facility EKG/telemetry test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt, no remediation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
