Location: New York, NY

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 Weeks
• Employment Type: Contract
• Shift: Day Shift
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Shift Timing: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week (7.5 Hours Per Day)
• Traveler Pay: $75–$80/hr
• Local Pay: $55–$62/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technician to perform diagnostic radiologic procedures in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and experience operating GE and Carestream imaging systems.

The X-Ray Technician is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images, preparing patients for procedures, maintaining radiation safety standards, and ensuring accurate documentation while supporting exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Identify patient service requirements and establish positive rapport with patients and healthcare team members.
• Explain imaging procedures and answer patient questions to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for radiologic examinations.
• Operate radiographic equipment and adjust technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Apply radiation protection principles and ensure patient and staff safety at all times.
• Utilize beam restriction devices and shielding techniques in accordance with safety regulations.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
• Process, review, and evaluate image quality, making adjustments when necessary.
• Maintain accurate patient records and radiology documentation.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and service requests as needed.
• Monitor and maintain radiology supply inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain professional competencies.
• Complete required annual competency assessments and training requirements.
• Support departmental initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsEducation

• Associate Degree from an accredited institution.
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure & Certifications

• Active New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of X-Ray / Diagnostic Radiology experience.
• Experience operating GE imaging equipment.
• Experience working with Carestream imaging systems.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic radiographic procedures and imaging techniques.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and protection protocols.
• Experience with patient positioning and image acquisition.
• Clinical documentation and record management experience.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Equipment troubleshooting and quality assurance experience preferred.
