- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that target both immediate goals and ongoing needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, focusing on various aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop cohesive care approaches.
- Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond the clinic.
- Occasionally support inpatient speech therapy evaluations and therapies to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Document patient progress meticulously, adhering to all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA is not obtained yet.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of starting employment.
- Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment for all age groups, with expertise in developmental and acquired language and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to modify therapy techniques while respecting diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment complemented by impressive problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
