Job Overview Histotechnologist – Charleston Campus. Full‑time, 40 hrs/week, Day Shift + rotating on‑call nights/weekends (8 AM–9 PM). Responsibilities Process a wide range of histologic specimens: grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining (including special stains & immunohistochemistry), and frozen sections. Produce high‑quality slides and perform quality control to ensure accurate pathology reviews. Troubleshoot issues that could affect diagnostic outcomes. Maintain, clean, and perform routine checks on lab equipment. Adhere to universal safety procedures and lab protocols. Rotate on‑call nights and weekends (8 AM–9 PM) to support laboratory needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or related scientific field. HTL(ASCP) certification (or equivalent) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification. If not certified, must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible; certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire, until certification is achieved salary will be 10% less.
