Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN

? $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Positions

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and patient-focused Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our rehabilitation team and provide skilled therapeutic services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

In this role, you will help residents achieve meaningful functional goals, improve independence, and enhance their quality of life while ensuring care is delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and reimbursement standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Carry out individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and established care plans.

• Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and changes to the supervising therapist.

• Accurately and timely document treatments, resident progress, and daily charges.

• Maintain established productivity, documentation, and quality standards.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, utilization reviews, and other care planning activities as assigned.

• Educate residents, families, and nursing staff regarding restorative programs, home programs, therapeutic activities, and strategies to promote independence as directed.

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized therapy areas and equipment.

• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

• Participate in facility performance improvement and quality initiatives.

• Travel or float between facilities as assigned based on resident and operational needs.

• Maintain compliance with Medicare, reimbursement, documentation, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Promote resident safety, dignity, independence, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Current state license, certification, or registration as an OTA, as applicable.

• Knowledge of Medicare, therapy documentation, and reimbursement requirements preferred.

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Dependable, compassionate, organized, and patient-focused.

• Commitment to providing safe, high-quality therapeutic care.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the workday.

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and support up to 50 pounds , as required.

• Ability to assist residents with transfers, activities of daily living, mobility, and therapeutic activities.

• Ability to manage the physical and emotional demands of patient care.

• Comfortable working in a clinical and skilled nursing environment.
