As a Project Engineer, you will be supporting the construction of a large-scale mission critical data center in rural Texas. Project Engineers work closely project teams, field leadership, and other jobsite stakeholders to successfully deliver mechanical scopes safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is the next step in Harder's project management career path and provides increasing responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction work.Successful projects do not complete themselves. We offer professional development opportunities, industry-leading benefits, and the chance to work on projects that will change the built environment forever.What you'll be doing:Plan and execute assigned mechanical scopes on large mission critical data center projectsCoordinate daily with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, designers, and owners to maintain project progressReview mechanical, plumbing, piping, and equipment drawings to verify constructability and identify potential conflicts before installationDevelop work packages, installation plans, and short-term look-ahead schedules that support field executionTrack labor productivity, quantities installed, earned value, and percent completePrepare labor forecasts, equipment forecasts, and cost projections for assigned scopesCoordinate procurement activities including material releases, purchase orders, fabrication status, deliveries, and inventory managementManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, turnover documentation, and as-built drawingsSupport commissioning activities, startup planning, system turnover, and owner acceptanceIdentify project risks early and work collaboratively to develop solutionsMentor Field Engineers and provide guidance as they develop their technical and project management skillsPromote Harder's safety culture by ensuring all work is planned and executed safelyWhat you will need to be successful in this role:Understanding of mechanical construction systems including HVAC, piping, plumbing, process piping, and equipment installationAbility to interpret mechanical coordination drawings, shop drawings, and BIM modelsExperience coordinating with multiple trades in fast-paced construction environmentsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyComfortable working in remote project locations and active construction environmentsWorking knowledge of Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel (preferred)Education/Experience:1 - 4 years of construction management experienceBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering and/or equivalent experience or educationBenefitsCompetitive salaryComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits – 100% of employee premiums are paid by the companyGenerous retirement package includes: 10% retirement contribution made by the company and a company match up to 2% of your annual salaryProfit sharingDiscretionary annual bonusPaid vacation and holidaysHarder University training and development, as well as other paid professional development opportunitiesTeam environment that promotes individual growthHMC reserves the right to perform a drug screening and background check, as may be required, and this offer may be contingent on passing a drug screening and background check.This position is salaried.
