Senior Java Developer

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, along with Python, SQL, cloud technologies, and modern data engineering frameworks to build high-performance, enterprise-grade data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend data processing applications using Java.
• Develop robust data ingestion frameworks, APIs, and microservices for large-scale data integration.
• Utilize Python for automation, scripting, and data transformation where required.
• Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing solutions.
• Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
• Design and optimize data models for analytics and reporting.
• Develop data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance data processing.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical leadership and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong programming expertise in Java (Core Java, Java 8+, Collections, Multithreading).
• Good knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, and data engineering tasks.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience in query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of data engineering concepts.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and metadata management.
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience in the Financial Services or Banking domain is preferred.
