Custodial Lead Worker (New Orleans)

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities:

To serve as an alternate point ofcontact for Goodwill Industries at the worksite. To be knowledgeable of the statement of workand ensure that all work is performed to contract specifications. To act in the place of the supervisor in hisor her absence.

1. To ensure thatat least one member of the management team is on duty during work time.

2. To assist inorienting and training new or transferred custodial workers.

3. To superviseand recommend disciplinary action for custodial workers.

4. To performcustodial duties as assigned by the supervisor or assistant supervisor.

5. To superviseand motivate custodial employees to reach production guidelines and to becapable of producing as well. To conductperiodic inspections of subordinate's work performance, as required or asrecommended by the supervisor.

6. To address allcustomer complaints promptly and satisfactorily. To notify supervisor, assistant supervisorand, if necessary, Project Manager of any customer complaints and other issuesthat may arise at the worksite.

7. To inventoryand request supplies ensuring that reorders are placed before stock is depletedas directed by the supervisor. Toinspect contract equipment on a regular schedule and maintain equipmentinspection log as directed by the supervisor.


8. To act as apositive role model for employees and customers in all aspects of professionalperformance.


9. To observepersonnel policies and safety procedures. To ensure compliance by subordinates. To ensure the daily safety meetingis conducted and documented.

10. To participatein employee monthly meetings.

11. Toensure hourly floor checks are conducted and documented.

12. Toperform all duties as required per contract/Goodwill management.

13. Toperform additional duties as assigned.


Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be ableto interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.

2. Must be ableto market Goodwill and explain the mission to the public.

3. Must establishand maintain effective working relationships with, and among, contractpersonnel.

4. Must be ableto read, write and communicate clearly in English.

5. Must be ableto work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights and weekends, andoccasionally, long, or extended hours.

6. Must be ableto lift and carry objects up to 10 #'s frequently and 50 #'s occasionally.

7. Must be ableto engage in prolonged standing, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, andstretching and climbing stairs.

8. Must be ableto function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of highstress.

Requirements:

1. Five years' experience in the custodial field with two yearsof supervisory experience required.

2. Must wear company issued uniforms.


3. Must be able to pass background check and drugscreening.


Working Conditions:

Frequent physical exertion, exposure to cleaningchemicals, fumes from buffing machines and potentially infectious materials
