Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology Specialist

This position requires a shift from 08:30 to 17:00, Tuesday through Saturday.

Job Description

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will analyze specimens according to section procedures and policies, ensuring the appropriateness of the samples. The position requires accurate application of test procedures, confirmation of unusual results, and review and reporting of all results according to laboratory policy to enable clinicians to perform accurate patient assessments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret laboratory results in accordance with established policies.
• Confirm unusual results and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and perform troubleshooting when necessary.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols, including handling biohazardous materials.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver quality laboratory services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• CLS (NCA), MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification as a medical technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Must meet CLIA 88 requirements for performing high complexity testing.
• Prefer one year of general laboratory experience.
• Ability to read and write in English and communicate effectively.
