Food & Beverage Associate

The Lancaster Stormers are seeking a Food & Beverage Associate to support the day to day operations of kitchens, concessions stands, and kiosk locations during Lancaster Stormers Game and Non-Game Special Events. The individual will work alongside cashiers, cooks, expeditors, bartenders, servers, and event staff, to provide a safe, efficient, and positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include food preparation, cooking, event set up and tear down, shipping and receiving, inventory management, cleanliness and sanitation and product quality, customer service and alcohol service. Eligible candidates must demonstrate excellent attendance, reliability, leadership, and a willingness to work a non traditional schedule that includes nights, weekends, and extended hours. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

• Cook for games, events, and other functions independently or as part of a team.
• Assist with food and beverage preparation and event-specific operational needs.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for events and assigned locations.
• Assist in ensuring concession team members follow proper policies and procedures in accordance with HACCP, ServSafe, Pennsylvania liquor regulations, and Lancaster Stormers standards.
• Manage shipping and receiving food, beverage and operational products.
• Verify event inventory before and after each event and communicate discrepancies to management.
• Be willing and able to work in any food and beverage position as needed to ensure all locations are fully operational. Assist as needed by the Director of Culinary Operations and Culinary Operations Manager.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate speed of service and guest satisfaction standards throughout events.
• Monitor and maintain standards for cleanliness, product quality, customer service, food safety and alcohol service.
• Collaborate effectively with full-time, seasonal, and event staff to provide fast, friendly, and professional guest experience.
• Assist with equipment and machine set up, operation, cleaning and teardown.
• Help provide leadership and direction to team members during events as assigned.
• Communicate operational concerns, inventory needs, equipment issues, and guest service concerns to management in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, grasping and performance of repetitive movements.
• Frequent lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent pushing and pulling carts/equipment containing inventory weighing up to 150 pounds.
• Ability to safely move throughout kitchens, concessions stands, storage areas, and event spaces.
• Ability to work extended shifts on one's feet.

Work Environment

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors throughout the year in a variety or weather conditions and temperatures.
• The noise level may range from moderate to loud depending on the event, including events with several thousand guests in attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Proven experience in food service, food handling, sanitation, concessions, hospitality, or customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to work independently and self-direct while also contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to demonstrate, by way of example, leadership skills and the ability to provide direction to team members when needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in a busy environment.
• Ability to work a flexible, non-traditional schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to report to scheduled shifts.
• Ability to follow company policies, food safety protocols, alcohol service standards and operational standards.
