Audio DSP Deployment Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the on-device design of the audio algorithm chain, including processing placement, precision, block size, and resource budgets.
• Port, re-architect, develop, and tune desktop audio algorithms into real-time production C/C++ on embedded DSP cores.
• Optimize DSP implementations using SIMD/vector intrinsics, fixed- versus floating-point trade-offs, memory placement, DMA, cache behavior, and tightly coupled memory.
• Profile cycle load, memory footprint, and end-to-end latency while removing performance hot spots.
• Validate implementations against reference algorithms and measured and perceived audio quality.
• Build test fixtures and regression scripts and debug on-device audio issues using logging and real-time trace tools.
• Collaborate with algorithm authors, acoustics engineers, and hardware teams to define the on-device audio chain.

Requirements

• Strong modern C/C++ experience in real-time, resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Solid DSP fundamentals including filtering, FFT, overlap-add processing, sample rate conversion, fixed-point arithmetic, and numerical precision.
• Experience making on-device algorithm design decisions and restructuring processing to meet real-time constraints.
• Experience porting reference algorithms from MATLAB, Python, or desktop C++ to embedded DSP or SIMD targets within cycle and memory budgets.
• Fluency with embedded toolchains, including cross-compilation, on-target debugging, and profiling.
• Experience with embedded audio frameworks and real-time processing pipelines on an SoC platform.
• Ability to work directly with algorithm authors, acoustics teams, and hardware teams.
• Preferred experience with vendor DSP audio frameworks on mobile or consumer SoC platforms.
• Familiarity with MaxMSP or JUCE as prototyping environments.
• Preferred audio experience in echo cancellation, noise suppression, beamforming with MEMS microphone arrays, loudspeaker protection, or spatial audio.
• Preferred experience with ARM NEON or comparable SIMD units, RTOS concepts, audio HAL or driver-level integration, and acoustic measurement tools such as Klippel, SoundCheck, or APx.
• Experience building automated audio regression tests is preferred.

• Full-time position with a stated US base salary range of $120,000-$300,000 annually.
