Network Deployment Technician, GND-NASA-Deploy

Job Overview Network Deployment Technician responsible for building and maintaining Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves periods of independent work, requires strong communication, and focuses on delivering network capacity projects with safety and security at the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Installation and configuration of routers, switches, and DWDM hardware. Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations, and configuration. Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations. Work cross‑functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects. Resolve data center and facility issues. Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside‑plant (OSP) connectivity issues. Lead small to mid‑size network deployment projects. Build relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events. Perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meet AWS standards. Improve all operational processes within each site and/or cage. Provide status updates to stakeholders via internal tools. Decommission cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift & rack equipment up to 40 lbs; may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines (reasonable accommodations may be provided). Travel: This role may involve up to 50% travel; the vast majority is local but may include domestic and international travel. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of computer networking experience. 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience. Experience in computer networking. Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds. Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment). 3+ years of computer networking and Linux operating system experience. Benefits and Compensation Base salary range: USD 30.00 – 54.00 hourly, depending on experience and location.
