Division Overview In the Beverage Division, Crown produces packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffee, teas, and energy drinks. The division focuses on innovative aluminum cans with expansive printable surfaces and a variety of sizes, shapes, and decorating options. Location LaCrosse, WI – a plant of 113 employees located near the Mississippi River, with proximity to major highways and the LaCrosse Airport. Position Overview The Manufacturing Supervisor works closely with the Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent to ensure production of a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise activities of equipment and personnel throughout the facility, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and spoilage. Communicate pertinent information between departments and shifts regarding equipment, production schedules, and production problems. Assist employees in identifying solutions, implementing fixes on machinery, and improving plant production. Perform and facilitate on‑the‑job training and coaching of all employees as needed. Apply knowledge of production methods to improve plant output. Manage machinery set‑up and adjustment, and inspect products to ensure compliance with standards. Oversee quality and recommend modifications of existing standards to achieve optimal performance within equipment limits. Complete and administer documentation such as production sheets, pallet tickets, job progressions, disciplinary actions, SAFE cards, time and attendance records, accident reports, and process control sheets. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Job Requirements & Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High school education or GED; 5–7 years of experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment; at least 3 years of supervisory experience; availability to work various shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; packaging industry experience; knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing. Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently or with a team, and willingness to think outside the box. Effective leadership skills, including conflict resolution, communication, and decision making. Demonstrated employee‑relations skills and ability to motivate people. Excellent time‑management and project‑management skills; ability to multi‑task. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.). Physical Requirements The role requires sitting, standing, walking, using hands and arms, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The associate may lift or move up to 10 lbs. Visual requirements include close, distance, and color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions Work is performed in a plant environment with occasional office tasks. The associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, a wide range of temperatures, and loud noise levels.
