Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients in critical condition, primarily focusing on children and young adults up to 25 years of age.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing complex medical conditions.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, performing assessments and interventions as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including inotropes.
• Assist in epilepsy monitoring and specialized care protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure safety and comfort for patients and families in a critical care environment.

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE a minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Pediatric Intensive Care.
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license is required.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are mandatory.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition and medication administration.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including night and day shifts, as well as at least every other holiday.

During the orientation process, candidates will undertake an ECG rhythm recognition test and a SafeMedicate assessment; a satisfactory score on both assessments is essential for continued employment.
