Respiratory Therapist III - Respiratory Care

At Stony Brook Medicine, the TH Respiratory Therapist III is a key member of the Respiratory Care team. The role involves diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluation and respiratory therapy treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. The therapist provides education to patients, families and the public, and collaborates across all levels of the organization. Responsibilities Perform basic and advanced respiratory procedures including intubation, arterial puncture and blood gas analysis. Manage mechanical ventilators for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients in areas such as Surgical, Medical, Burn, Pediatric, Neonatal, Cardiac Surgery, and Anesthesia Post‑Op Intensive Care Units. Execute other respiratory therapy and patient care duties as directed. Qualifications Required Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. Certificate of completion from an approved therapist‑level Respiratory Therapy Program. Registered Respiratory Therapist. 0–1 year experience. Current NYS Therapist License. Preferred Bachelor’s degree. Benefits & Compensation Starting salary range: $100,674 – $122,721. Additional compensation: $3,087 for location, shift differentials for Night ($15,000) & Evening ($10,000), and $575 for inconvenience for non‑day‑shift positions.
