Working Foreman-Line (Rubber Glover)

Role and Scope of Position Supervise line crew(s) involved in the installation, maintenance, and repairs of the underground and overhead electric distribution system. Oversee equipment, materials, and record‑keeping, including completion of timesheets for crew members and tailboard documentation. Essential Functions Train, instruct, and mentor line‑workers to ensure safety rules and procedures are followed. Evaluate the performance of each crew member and initiate additional training or corrective action as necessary. Recommend promotions, demotions, and discipline through proper documentation. Coordinate and schedule work assignments. Conduct tailboards, truck and trailer inspections. Ensures all work is completed in a timely manner, on schedule, and within budget. Provide first‑response coverage to off‑hour emergency trouble calls, investigate, correct, and clear trouble. Accept standby duty responsibilities throughout the year, remaining available by telephone and/or pager. Assume temporary responsibility for Field Supervisor‑Lines and Supervisor‑Distribution Lines in their absence. Work with emergency services (fire, police) to maintain a safe environment. Enforce company environmental policies and procedures on each job site. Identify appropriate procedural methods and make decisions based on analysis of information. Work effectively with subordinates, superiors, interfacing departments, and vendors. Analyze operational methods and develop improved procedures as needed. Perform duties of a Line‑worker I (RG34.5). Technical Knowledge, Skill, Education, Licenses & Certifications Knowledge of and ability to apply electrical theory. Complete working understanding of company line‑work practices and policies. Ability to become a certified rubber glover of 34.5kV. Employee weight limit is 300pounds; must live within 30minutes of the area work center. Mechanical aptitude, manual and finger dexterity. Communication skills, ability to follow instructions, climb and work on poles and structures. Must meet standby coverage requirements. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent and a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Line‑worker I (RG34.5). Minimum of three (3) years as a Line‑worker I (RG34.5). Commercial driver’s license (ClassA with Special Trailer Endorsement) and a safe driving record. Supervisory experience is preferred. Compensation and Benefits The hourly salary rate for this position is $65.64, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with experience. Emergency Response Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required, including travel between MA, CT, and NH. Overtime may be required.
