Advanced Locate Technician

Job Description The starting pay for this position is $21 to $32 per hour based on previous experience. Reconn is a leader in the utility industry focused on quality and safety. Training will be provided, but prior industry experience is required. Responsibilities Advanced Locate Technicians are responsible for the correct, safe, and efficient locating of underground utilities. Tasks include thoroughly searching for all underground utilities in an area, properly marking their locations, completing necessary paperwork, and documenting each locate. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and using a company‑provided laptop and smartphone to document the locate. Benefits 100% paid training – invested in you from day one. Available for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed. Ability to travel locally during the business day; occasional out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected. Able to pass a drug screen. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain, bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 lbs. Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities. Computer proficiency. Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints; basic math skills to calculate distances.
