Job Description

We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care in the following areas:

• Post-partum care including vaginal and cesarean delivery
• Tubal ligation and circumcision
• GYN surgeries and couplet care
• Low-risk antepartum and transition nursery care

Key Responsibilities

• Administer blood and blood products
• Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
• Utilize wound vacs and administer heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Provide OB-GYN and post-operative care
• Conduct normal newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management
• Support postpartum readmissions and post-epidural management
• Educate parents on discharge, infant identification, newborn assessments, and breastfeeding instructions
• Monitor and assess pain management, including opioids and PCA usage

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to float between NICU or L&D as needed
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of postpartum care and newborn management
• Ability to perform bladder assessments and Foley catheter insertions
• Experience with electric/manual breast pumps
• Proficient in the use of Epic or similar electronic health record systems
• Previous charge experience preferred

Orientation and Training

Hours for orientation will be scheduled upon hire. Modules will be required pre-start and annually, with an average completion time of 16 hours.

• Staffing ratios and patient care volume will be discussed during the interview process.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
