Controller – Lead Financial Strategy and Accounting Operations for ECDI

Job Overview

• Company: ECDI.
• Salary/Pay Rate: $105,000 - $120,000 per year (plus Annual and Sign-On Bonus potential).
• Location: Matthews, NC (Hybrid).
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital financial leader, taking complete ownership of accounting operations and delivering financial metrics that drive core business decisions.

This role offers the independence and freedom to manage full-cycle accounting while collaborating closely with a high-performing, non-stuffy team in a performance-driven environment.

You will directly impact company growth by maintaining accurate financial models and mastering specialized accounting methods in the electrical and controls sector.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Oversee all daily accounting functions, including debits, credits, general ledger management, and financial reconciliations.
• Apply detailed Accrual Accounting and Percentage of Completion Accounting methods for accurate project revenue tracking.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, budgets, and reporting packages to guide strategic executive decisions.
• Manage and navigate bookkeeping software programs, maintaining current QuickBooks data while supporting future software migrations.
• Integrate financial reporting across all business units to ensure cross-functional alignment and clear cost controls.
• Drive budgeting and forecasting processes to maximize company profitability and optimize project bonus structures.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Deep fundamental understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles.
• Proven expertise in Accrual Accounting and Percentage of Completion Accounting methods.
• Demonstrated proficiency with various accounting programs and Excel and adaptability to learn new bookkeeping platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting functions and data input.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in budget creation and management.
• Strong communication and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• 10 years of related work experience in accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Background in financial budgeting and forecasting within the commercial or industrial contracting space.
• NC Notary a plus.
