Production Lead- A Shift 6:00am-2:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Supervises Production Team (80% of the time)
a. Manages production Team to ensure manufacturing issues, daily routines, quality control, and maintenance, are being conducted at optimal levels
b. Interviews and trains all new hires
c. Coaches and counsels Team members as required with guidance from the Operations Manager
d. Delegates production tasks as required
e. Maintains predetermined stock levels
f. Tracks daily cases and cases per hour on conversions upon completion
g. Improves efficiency and output
h. Maintains equipment by following all steps as outlined in Maintenance Memo
i. Troubleshoots and resolves problems in a timely manner
j. Knows procedures to stop machines in emergency, non-emergency situations and when problems arise
k. Ensures equipment and production area are clean and organized
2. Conversions (5% of the time)
a. Interprets and understands importance of accuracy for all conversions
b. Comprehends all conversion part numbers and locations in the warehouse
c. Comprehends finished good part numbers and their differences
d. Assembles correct quality of lids and containers and box styles
e. Labels correctly
3. Label Machine (5% of the time)
a. Configures label machine for all containers
b. Knows how to troubleshoot label problems and loading of labels
c. Changes out lots
d. Understands machine controls and when to add oil
4. Filling Machine (5% of the time)
a. Configures filling machine for all container sizes
b. Changes drums correctly and verifies lot on drums connected to filler
c. Comprehends where rails, electronic eyes, and the gates need to be
d. Sets data settings for priming system, auto gate routines, fill times and conveyor speeds
5. Capping Machine (5% of the time)
a. Configure filling machine for all container sizes b. Know how to change and identify all parts
c. Comprehends where rails, electronic eyes and speed setting need to be set
d. Knows frequency and where to grease caper
6. Develops, implements, and monitors internal performance metrics for on time delivery, inventory management, cost, product quality, capacity plans and utilization, and production schedule accomplishment.
7. Recommends and drives continuous improvement activities with Team Members to meet annual objectives.
8. Designs and implements necessary improvements to maintain safe, clean, energy efficient, and well-organized facilities.
9. Develops the Production Team to become change agents, data driven decision makers, and discipline experts.
10. Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Purpose.
11. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters including coaching, pay changes and investigations.
12. Attends all scheduled meetings
13. Signs off on Team Members’ time sheets by 5pm on the Monday of each payweek.
14. Punches in and out for each shift and meal period with no more than 1 error per quarter.
15. Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
16. Provides excellent customer service.
17. Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
18. Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
19. Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
20. Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
21. Performs all other duties as required. The duties described above are not inclusive. Additional duties may be permanently assigned or required from time to time due to the need to respond to customer needs and remain competitive in the marketplace. 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least three years’ hands-on experience working in operations leadership preferably within a bottling/packaging manufacturing environment.
3. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
4. Skilled in use of computer and software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
5. Ability to learn ERP systems such as Epicor.
6. Fluently speak, read, and write English.
7. Effective written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated. 9. Skilled in time management.
10. Skilled in multi-tasking.
11. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak in front of groups of co-workers and vendors.
12. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, freight, and percentages.
13. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
14. Demonstrated customer problem solving skills.
15. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
16. Ability to learn and perform primary functions of positions within department.
17. Ability to manage stress.
18. Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, phone and headset; and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 50 pounds.
19. Position spends approximately 10% of time sitting at a desk and 90% standing or walking.
20. Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
21. Must work from the corporate office and be able to work on time on a regular basis during regular business hours.
22. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to machines in a climate-controlled production facility where the noise level is high. Pay starts at $18.94-$23.44 DOE.
