Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary Human Resources partner for Plymouth Poultry Company's Clackamas, Oregon facility. As the sole on-site HR professional supporting approximately 85 employees, this role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, corrective action, time and attendance administration, training, compliance, leave administration, employee engagement, and offboarding. Professional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. This position partners closely with facility leadership to support business objectives, promote a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, and provide responsive HR support to employees and managers. Talent Acquisition & Staffing Manage recruiting for Oregon location. Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning. Coordinate candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and hiring activities. Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities. Employee Relations & Investigations Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters. Coach managers on policy interpretation, performance management, and employee concerns. Conduct workplace investigations and document findings. Facilitate corrective action processes and support performance improvement efforts. Promote a positive, respectful, and compliant work environment. HR Operations & Employee Support Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers. Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy. Coordinate onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves, and offboarding activities. Support employee benefit, payroll, and leave-related inquiries. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. Review and audit employee timekeeping records. Resolve attendance, scheduling, and payroll-related issues. Monitor attendance trends and support attendance-related corrective action. Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing. Training, Compliance & Engagement Coordinate compliance, onboarding, and employee training programs. Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Assist with HR communications and culture-building activities. Support audits and compliance-related activities as needed. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3 to 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Experience supporting recruiting, employee relations, investigations, corrective action, and HR operations. Experience in manufacturing, food production, distribution, logistics, or other operational environments preferred. Professional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Strong understanding of recruiting, employee relations, workplace investigations, and performance management. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal, coaching, conflict resolution, and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and timekeeping/payroll systems. Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
