Chief Of Staff

Reporting directly to Xavier Lazarus, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Elaia and Lazard Elaia Capital (LEC), and acting in close collaboration with the previous Chief of staff and his executive assistant, the Chief of Staff acts as a trusted right hand, enabling him/her to operate at maximum effectiveness across all dimensions of his role. The CoS works at the intersection of investment, management, and strategy in the fast-moving, complex environment of a leading technology venture capital and growth equity firm.

This is a rare, high-exposure role offering a privileged vantage point on the full lifecycle of a VC and growth fund - from investment to portfolio management, and from firm strategy definition, fundraising execution and firm governance organisation. The CoS works closely with a team of experienced Managing Partners, each leading their own investment and operational teams, as well as with the teams. He/she plays a central coordination role across the firm's key moments.

Preferred Experience

Technical skills required

• Strong project management skills across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and the French and European Tech landscape
• Good scientific and technological culture, especially across software, AI, biotech, cybersecurity, and deep tech
• Genuine interest in AI tools and data systems, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with planning and management tools relevant to fund operations (board governance, fundraising processes, marketing and communication plans)
• Knowledge of the venture capital and private equity industry is a plus
• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
