Description

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification and at least 1 year of experience to work in a mobile MRI unit supporting a neuroscience institute.

Details

• MRI unit operating within an acute care hospital setting, functioning as a mobile MRI unit for a neuroscience institute
• Single-scanner department using Siemens equipment
• Performs brain, spine, MRA, body (abdomen, pelvis, chest), and MSK (long bone, joints) imaging studies
• Average of 14 scans/studies per day
• Works as a lone technologist requiring strong physician communication skills
• Uses EPIC EMR and Fuji PACS
• Radiology supervisor/lead tech and in-house radiologist available for support
• Staffing model includes 1 tech supported by 2 techs assistants
• 2x12-hour shifts per week scheduled between 6:45 AM and 7:15 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekend, holiday, or call/standby requirements
• No floating to other departments required

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
• WV MRI license required if applicable
• Must be able to start IVs
• Experience working independently as a lone technologist
• Strong physician communication skills required

Additional Information

• Perform a variety of MRI studies including brain, spine, MRA, body, and MSK imaging
• Assist with setup and startup of a brand-new mobile MRI unit prior to opening
• Grey scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius of most WVU facilities, or 100 miles for Princeton Community Hospital
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within WVU for longer than a cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
• All candidates interview directly with the hiring manager
