POSITION OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE:

The Animal Care Specialist is responsible for providing support to the breeding or farrowing department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Tasks are dependent upon the department, but may include: Provide care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment Assist with movement of animals Treat and vaccinate animals Assist in power washing Promote a safe work environment Maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job) Follow all Schwartz Farms Inc bio-security policies and procedures Exhibit strong teamwork, including working to achieve team goals, embracing new technologies, working on new projects, etc. Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation Demonstrate Schwartz Farms' values of integrity, care, excellence and discipline.
