Machinist JobLocation: Calvert City, KY, US Employment Type: Regular Category: MaintenancePosition OverviewThe Machinist 1/C will perform mechanical maintenance duties in a chemical plant environment at Arkema's Calvert City, Kentucky site. This role requires hands-on industrial experience and technical skills gained through a minimum of five years working as a machinist, industrial mechanic, or equivalent craft. The Machinist 1/C supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through expert maintenance of rotating and process equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, mixers, and mechanical systems.Remove, install, maintain, and rebuild process equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.Apply proper and safe use of all tools required to maintain equipment in an industrial chemical plant.Work independently and collaboratively to support daily maintenance activities and minimize downtime.Follow all Arkema and site-specific safety protocols, procedures, and work practices.QualificationsMinimum of five years of practical experience in an industrial facility as a machinist, industrial mechanic, or equivalent craft. Proficiency in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment. Experience with removal, installation, and maintenance of process equipment. Strong understanding of proper and safe use of tools in a chemical plant environment.Skills & AbilitiesExcellent mechanical problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong communication skills for effective teamwork with maintenance and operations personnel. Commitment to safety and strict adherence to all safety procedures.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a chemical plant environment with exposure to various industrial conditions such as heat, noise, and confined spaces. The role requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, lifting, and working in challenging conditions while wearing required PPE.
