Description

The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations by performing transactional and reconciliatory tasks across multiple accounting functions. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely processing, and adherence to internal controls and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

o Process and record accounting transactions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries


o Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with company policies


o Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances


o Assist with month-end and year-end close activities


o Support invoicing, cash application, and payment processing as needed


o Maintain accurate documentation and accounting schedules


o Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls


o Assist with financial reporting and analysis


o Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting records


o Support audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation


o Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with implementing efficiencies


o Perform other accounting duties as assigned

• Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

o Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)


o 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance preferred


o Strong attention to detail and accuracy


o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems


o Knowledge of basic accounting principles and internal controls


o Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently


o Strong written and verbal communication skills


o Manufacturing or multi-entity experience a plus


o ERP implementation or system conversion experience a plus (e.g., data migration, testing, validation, or user acceptance support)
