Rochester Academy Elementary Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking an elementary teacher . This is a full-time contract position with an immediate start.
Ideal candidates will possess New York State certification. Candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education or have completed a teacher certification program.
Candidates can expect to:
- Teach all core area courses for a class of up to 25 students (generally 18-22)
- Work collaboratively in grade level and department teams
- Support the whole child through relationships with the student and the family
- Show passion for teaching and love of students
- Show understanding and care for students of all backgrounds and levels of need, and sharing an equity mindset
Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. Over 90% of our students identify as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship.
Ideal candidates share in the beliefs that all students have the right to high-quality education and that restorative practices apply to all members of the school community. We are seeking teachers who are self-directed, committed, and independent. RACS teachers are team players who work collaboratively, including when planning curriculum. Candidates should know or be ready to learn responsive lesson planning practices.

We are a Title I school, so candidates are eligible for the TEACH grant and Public Service Loan forgiveness. In addition, RACS will support teachers and staff with tuition assistance when pursuing a degree relevant to their work.
