Quality Control Sorter

Shift: 1st Responsibilities: Sort machined metal parts made from copper and aluminum for various quality defects based on written and verbal instructions from the Sorting Lead and/or Quality Leadership. Sorting takes place in a seated position at an individual workbench. Lift pails of parts from the floor to the sorting workbench, and carry pails to their storage locations – frequent standing, walking, and bending. Maintain an organized workspace. Record the status of sort jobs on forms provided by the Sorting Lead. Count parts as necessary on the counting scale. On occasion, other tasks as requested by Quality Leadership within the training level and physical capabilities of the Sorter. Requirements: Ability to use quality gauging equipment such as calipers, thread gauges, and gauge pins; or, the willingness and ability to learn how to use these gauges as taught by Quality Leadership. Ability to see quality requirements (vision within 3 feet must be excellent) Ability to read at the sixth-grade level, and understand written instructions in the English language Ability to speak and understand verbal instructions in the English language Ability to lift and handle pails of parts that weigh up to 35 lbs. Ability to walk up to one mile per day (moving parts from storage to work area, obtaining necessary sorting equipment, and similar tasks) Be at the work station at the beginning of the paid start time, ready for task assignment or working at the assigned task #J-18808-Ljbffr IHI Connectors
