Principal Consultant, Integrated System Planning

About the Role We are seeking a Principal Consultant and Technical Lead to support our Infrastructure Advisory organization in delivering integrated resource management projects for our clients, with a focus on market modeling through platforms such as PLEXOS and Encompass. Key Responsibilities Lead high‑complexity consulting tasks in support of project delivery, including integrated resource planning, scenario design, assumption development, and documentation. Execute energy market modeling using PLEXOS and EnCompass to inform client strategy, integrated resource planning, and investment decisions. Translate client objectives, regulatory requirements, and market assumptions into actionable long‑term resource plans. Manage tasks, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements as a technical manager or director on strategy and planning projects. Provide technical subject‑matter expertise, recommend innovative solutions, and produce complex work products across all project phases. Lead client meetings and workshops, develop presentations, and communicate effectively with clients. Support business development activities, including development of scopes, schedules, and budgets. Conduct model QA/QC, calibration, and results validation; develop repeatable workflows, templates, and client‑ready exhibits. Perform resource adequacy, reliability, and planning reserve margin assessments; evaluate capacity accreditation and ELCC where applicable. Conduct portfolio optimization and investment planning analyses across generation, storage, transmission, and demand‑side resources. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree (preferred). Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience. Typically 10+ years of experience in a business/consulting environment. Work Environment / Physical Demands Office environment or client site with travel up to 100%.
