NDT Inspector- 1st Shift (Level II MT and PT) Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a NDT Inspector- 1st Shift (Level II MT and PT) at our Elyria, OH location. Hours are Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm. Hourly pay: $35.81. Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Job Summary The NDT Inspector will perform highly diversified inspection activities per inspection plans, blueprints, or manufacturing outlines and determine conformance to published specifications using standard inspection equipment. Essential Functions Perform highly diversified inspection activities per inspection plans, blueprints, or manufacturing outlines and determine conformance to published specifications using standard inspection equipment. Lay out of castings for verification of cleanup at subsequent machining operations. Create inspection plans in line with manufacturing processes and drawing specifications. Pull inspection plans and request appropriate gauges. Review product test data for compliance to test specifications and validate with acceptance stamp. Review respective shipping documents for conformance to contract, purchase orders, and blueprint revisions. Layout and perform highly diversified experimental and production inspections of various parts/assemblies, tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment. Prepare and send out raw material samples. Involves unlimited transfer to NDT/Calibration occupation as required. Clean and move parts as necessary. Pass an annual eye exam per: NEAR VISION: Snellen 14/18 or better (20/25 or better Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, Ortho-Rater 8 or equivalent). COLOR VISION: Average or normal (4 of 6 responses Titmus, B & L, or AD testing machines, or satisfactory responses when tested with Isihara or Pseudoisochromatic plates). Perform routine maintenance per Appendix A and appropriate safety checks. Responsible for product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices. Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes. Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures. Complete all required paperwork. Insure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked prior to movement. Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required. Complete all required documentation including but not limited to operator inspection records, job routers, NCR's, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets. Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor. Utilize computer to access various databases. Perform 5S activities as required. Minimum Qualifications Must be certified to Level II Nondestructive Tester per NAS 410 for Magnetic Particle Inspection AND Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection High School Diploma Prior calibration experience preferred Must have previous CMM experience and surface plate inspection experience. Must have working knowledge of GD&T Prior experience using rotary tables, height stands, electro limit/shadow gauges, comparator, sine bar, profilometer and micrometers Must have basic reading and writing skills Requires basic math skills to make necessary calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing Must have sufficient knowledge of geometry and trigonometry. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, manufacturing outlines, and written instructions Must be able to apply detailed techniques to products or parts Proficient working computer knowledge Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Physical Demands Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and stretching. Requires lifting parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
