Machine Operator

This role involves operating machinery in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment to produce plastic casings used for sausage. You will run shear and tying machines that dispense plastic casings, perform quality checks, and prepare finished products for shipment. The position focuses on machine operation and packaging, with no direct food production involved.

Responsibilities

• Operate shear and tying machines to produce plastic casings according to production specifications.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
• Inspect plastic casings for defects, quality issues, and compliance with standards.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain optimal output and quality.
• Package finished plastic casings, including boxing and labeling, for shipment.
• Handle materials and products safely, including lifting up to 50 pounds when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and support a smooth workflow.
• Follow all operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control processes.

Essential Skills

• Previous manufacturing experience, with a strong focus on machine operation.
• Proven ability to operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Experience with packaging processes in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic understanding of quality inspection and quality control practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Reliability and consistent attendance to support production schedules.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience operating shear, tying, or similar production machines.
• Familiarity with plastic or similar materials manufacturing environments.
• Willingness to learn new machines and processes and to be cross-trained in multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting products and monitoring equipment.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on producing plastic casings, with no direct food production on-site. You will work on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The environment is team-oriented, with a small workforce that emphasizes cooperation and consistent attendance. The position involves operating production machinery, performing quality checks, and packaging products, including occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Standard industrial safety practices apply, and you can expect a structured, predictable schedule in a clean and controlled production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eyota, MN.

Pay and Benefits
