Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated nursing professionals to join our team in a telemetry unit located in Independence, MO. This facility offers a dynamic work environment with a focus on patient care and safety.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 PM or 1:4 AM, 1:5 PM (with patient care technicians)
• Staffing: Total RN-based care with no patient care technicians typically available. Unit secretaries are scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Equipment and Documentation

• Equipment: BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

• Full-Time Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
• Part-Time Staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation
• PRN Staff: 1: 3 shifts in a 4-week period with 1 weekend shift required; 2: 6 shifts in a 4-week period with 3 weekend shifts required

Patient Experience Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate competence in bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds to enhance patient care and satisfaction.

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: Level 2 Trauma Center, Stroke Accreditation, STEMI Accreditation, Certified Bariatric Center

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Essential Skills

Candidates must possess advanced assessment and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to manage vasoactive drips effectively.

Typical Procedures

• Central Line or PICC line placement

Floating Policy

PRN staff may float once per week, while full-time and part-time staff will float in rotation based on scheduled dates.

Dress Code

Required uniform includes charcoal grey scrub tops with matching charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. Black or charcoal grey jackets are permitted, with the option for unit-specific jackets.
