Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Contract (O.R. Technician)
Location: New York, NY
Shift: 5 days/week (Day Shift 7 AM – 5 PM, flexible 9 AM – 5 PM)
Position Type: Contract

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to assist the surgical team in the operating room. The CST will support surgeons and registered nurses by maintaining a sterile environment, preparing instruments and supplies, and ensuring smooth surgical procedures while following all safety and infection control standards.

• Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures following aseptic techniques
• Prepare sterile instrument tables and surgical supplies based on procedure requirements
• Assist in patient draping and positioning for surgery
• Anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies
• Maintain accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the surgical team
• Monitor and maintain sterile field at all times; correct any contamination immediately
• Assist in handling and labeling surgical specimens as per hospital policy
• Support circulating nurse with room setup, equipment preparation, and patient transfer
• Assist in safe application of dressings and drainage systems
• Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and decontamination of instruments/equipment
• Maintain operating room cleanliness and readiness for next procedure
• Follow all OSHA, infection control, and perioperative safety guidelines
• Support medication handling under RN supervision (no controlled substances handling)

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist training program required
• CST Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of scrubbing experience preferred (Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics preferred)
• Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written)
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to work in high-pressure environments
