Industrial Electrician

We are seeking Industrial Electricians to support manufacturing, food and beverage processing, agriculture, packing and cold-storage, and distribution operations throughout the greater Yakima area.
This is a hands-on electrical maintenance position for candidates who are comfortable troubleshooting industrial equipment, electrical systems, motors, controls, and automated machinery in fast-paced production environments.

What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and automated production equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, wiring diagrams, meters, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain and repair motors, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, transformers, control panels, and industrial wiring.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and automated equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and equipment documentation.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
- Complete preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, startups, and modifications.
- Assist with troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment when needed.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety teams.
- Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and help develop longer-term solutions.
- Follow applicable electrical, safety, Lockout/Tagout, arc-flash, and plant procedures.

Experience from food plants, fruit packing facilities, cold storage operations, wineries, breweries, beverage production, warehouses, distribution centers, packaging facilities, manufacturing plants, mills, fabrication shops, and other industrial environments can translate very well.
Strong candidates typically bring:
- Hands-on industrial electrical or electrical-maintenance experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems safely and efficiently.
- Experience working around production or automated equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with motors, controls, sensors, relays, and VFDs.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machinery.
- Experience using multimeters, clamp meters, or other electrical testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to respond effectively to production downtime and equipment issues.

A Washington electrical license, Journeyman license, industrial electrical certification, or related credential may be preferred for certain opportunities but is not required for every position.

Yakima-area employers have significant operations in agriculture and food processing, manufacturing, packing/warehousing, and logistics/distribution, making experience from any of these environments highly transferable.
Candidates with electrical experience supporting fruit-processing equipment, conveyors, sorting systems, packing lines, refrigeration systems, warehouse automation, food-processing machinery, high-speed manufacturing equipment, or material-handling systems are especially encouraged to apply.

Successful Industrial Electricians are strong troubleshooters who remain calm when equipment goes down, understand how electrical systems interact with production machinery, and take ownership of repairs from diagnosis through completion.
The strongest candidates combine electrical knowledge with some exposure to automation, mechanical systems, production equipment, or industrial maintenance.
