Small Animal Associate Veterinarian $90K–$150K Guaranteed Base + Monthly Production Melia Castro No Negative Accrual Maybe you don't need a different career. Rocket City Veterinary Services is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our independently owned veterinary group in the Huntsville/Madison, Alabama area. And this is not your standard associate veterinarian position. We have two brick-and-mortar veterinary hospitals and a full-service mobile veterinary practice , giving our doctors the opportunity to experience something genuinely different: Variety. Practice personalized veterinary medicine in patients' homes. Practice full-service medicine inside our veterinary hospitals. See dogs, cats, pocket pets, and reptiles. You can practice hospital medicine. You can practice mobile medicine. You can do both. No longer doing the exact same thing every single day unless that's genuinely what you love. LET'S TALK COMPENSATION FIRST. Because we know you want to know. We offer a guaranteed starting base salary of $90,000–$150,000, based on experience, PLUS monthly production bonuses. Production is calculated monthly . When your eligible production exceeds your monthly production threshold, you earn an additional 20% of the production above that threshold. No negative accrual. No carrying a slower month into the next month. PTO and CE time are yours regardless of production. Here's a real-world example: A veterinarian earning a $90,000 guaranteed base salary has a monthly production threshold of $37,500. If that veterinarian produces $55,686.75 in eligible production for the month, they are $18,186.75 above their threshold. They receive an additional $3,637.35 production bonus for that month—on top of their guaranteed salary. We don't want you wondering how your compensation works. Rocket City Veterinary Services includes: Rocket City Mobile Vet - Our full-service mobile veterinary practice brings personalized medical care directly into our patients' homes. Rocket City Veterinary Hospital - Full-service veterinary medicine supported by an experienced team and the resources to work up cases and practice excellent medicine. Rocket City Veterinary Hospital Pine Grove - Our newest hospital with tremendous opportunity for growth, relationship-building, and helping shape the future of our practice. Our doctors have the opportunity to move between mobile and hospital medicine based on the needs of the practice, their interests, and the career they want to build. MOBILE MEDICINE IS DIFFERENT - IN THE BEST WAY. If you've never practiced mobile veterinary medicine, you may not realize how special it can be. You meet pets where they are most comfortable. You see the environment they actually live in. You have time to educate clients and create individualized care plans. You develop incredibly personal relationships with families. For anxious, fearful, senior, mobility-challenged, and spicy patients, mobile medicine can completely change their veterinary experience. POCKET PETS. REPTILES. AND A WHOLE LOT OF VARIETY. Love exotics? Come on. Never touched a reptile and would prefer to maintain that boundary? That's okay too. Have a special interest in ultrasound, surgery, dentistry, behavior, exotics, or another area of veterinary medicine? Tell us. We are independently owned. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
Current Alabama veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain Alabama licensure
Ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration as required for the position
Commitment to practicing high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and team members
Willingness to collaborate as part of a supportive veterinary team
Interest in continued learning and professional growth
Comfortable practicing small-animal medicine, including dogs and cats
Willingness to participate in hospital and/or mobile veterinary medicine based on position and interest
Ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records
