That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. In Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, we have designed and built vehicles that have redefined their segments, combining exceptional range, performance, design, and expansive space in a single experience. We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and productionhappening in-houseacross our global offices andmanufacturingfacilities.Ourteamscomefromindustriesaround the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence.By refusing to settle, youcanhelpredefinewhat’spossible andshape the future of mobility. About the Team The Field Quality Laboratory team turns customer, vehicle, and component data into objective evidence that helps Lucid improve product quality and customer experience. The team partners across Field Quality, Warranty Engineering, Product Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service, and Validation to investigate returned parts, reproduce issues, validate corrective actions, and strengthen future product launches. What makes this team unique is its hands-on connection to both laboratory-based failure analysis and vehicle-level validation across Lucid’s major systems. The team operates at the intersection of physical evidence, engineering judgment, and cross-functional decision-making. About the Role As the Senior Manager, Field Quality Laboratory, you will lead Lucid’s laboratory operations responsible for returned-part analysis, component testing, failure validation, vehicle inspections, and fleet-based durability investigations. This role reports to a senior leader within the Field Quality organization and exists to strengthen the speed, rigor, and consistency of technical investigations tied to customer and field quality concerns. In your first 12 months, you will own the operating model for the Field Quality Laboratory, improve investigation turnaround time, increase root cause identification effectiveness, and build a vehicle testing program that supports faster issue resolution and corrective action validation. Success will be measured through improved laboratory throughput, stronger evidence quality, clearer cross-functional decision-making, and measurable support for product quality improvements. This role offers the opportunity to influence vehicle quality through direct ownership of physical evidence, laboratory capability, and vehicle-level validation across advanced EV systems. What You Own Laboratory Operations: Lead Field Quality laboratory operations and set investigation priorities, staffing plans, and throughput expectations that support timely, evidence-based resolution of customer and field quality concerns. Failure Analysis: Own the standards for returned-part analysis, component teardown, failure reproduction, and validation testing so engineering teams can make decisions based on objective evidence and repeatable methods. Fleet Validation: Manage Lucid’s Field Quality vehicle fleet and determine how vehicles are used for issue reproduction, durability accumulation, corrective action validation, and emerging risk identification. Corrective Actions: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, service, and warranty teams to validate design changes, process improvements, containment plans, and service procedures before broader implementation. Technical Escalations: Provide laboratory evidence, risk assessment, and investigation recommendations for high-priority quality issues, customer escalations, and cross-functional leadership reviews. Capability Growth: Identify and implement laboratory tools, test methods, documentation systems, and analytical capabilities that improve investigation speed, consistency, and technical rigor. Team Leadership: Build, coach, and develop a team of laboratory engineers and technicians while establishing clear performance expectations, safe work practices, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. What You Bring 10 years of experience in automotive quality, reliability, validation, testing, laboratory operations, product engineering, field quality, warranty engineering, or a related technical discipline. 8 years of leadership experience managing engineering, laboratory, validation, or technical investigation teams. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience leading structured root cause investigations, technical failure analysis, component teardown, failure reproduction, validation testing, and corrective action verification. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications. Preferred Experience supporting automotive warranty, field quality, customer issue management, or service engineering organizations. Experience managing vehicle fleets used for durability testing, validation activities, or reliability assessments. Familiarity with EV architectures, including high-voltage systems, battery systems, electric drive units, charging systems, thermal management systems, and vehicle controls. Experience with vehicle diagnostics, CAN data analysis, telematics, DTC analysis, or connected vehicle data. Knowledge of reliability engineering methodologies, Weibull analysis, durability validation, life-cycle testing, laboratory accreditation standards, or engineering quality systems. Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, or automotive product development processes. Master’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline. Experience within premium automotive, EV, aerospace, or advanced technology industries. Physical Requirements Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a laboratory, production, or vehicle evaluation environment. Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, inspecting components, operating test equipment, and documenting findings. Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation; occasional heavier lifting may require assistance. Reaching and Bending: Routine reaching, bending, twisting, and squatting may be required when inspecting vehicles, components, or laboratory equipment. Repetitive Motions: Repeated hand, wrist, and arm movements may be required for component handling, testing, fastening, positioning, and installation tasks. Climbing: Occasional use of steps or platforms may be required to access vehicles, equipment, or different height-level areas. PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye protection, hearing protection, or other equipment required by Lucid safety standards.
