Registered Nurse - Clinical - Trauma

Job Summary The Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient's hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach. Job Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessment and reassessment, including admission, transfer, post‑op, and post‑procedure evaluations, and document findings. Establish, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care based on assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab results, physician orders, protocols, and other relevant information. Provide and document nursing interventions, collaborate with the health‑care team, and communicate patient‑care information, including accurate hand‑off communication. Administer medications accurately, manage IV fluids and parenteral nutrition, and handle referrals and special‑needs requests. Identify and respond to changes in patient status, provide patient/family education, and maintain infection‑control practices. Document and communicate changes in patient condition, evaluate effectiveness of care, and report significant changes to physicians and other stakeholders. Provide specialized care for patients at high risk for injury, including restraint care, pain management, and abuse assessment. Maintain professional competence by adhering to quality standards, participating in learning experiences, and staying current with policies and procedures. Support team collaboration, supervise new staff, and communicate plans of care precisely and professionally. Participate in performance improvement and evidence‑based practice initiatives, including unit‑level projects and nursing research activities. Apply age‑appropriate care principles for adult and geriatric patient populations. Provide cost‑effective services by using resources wisely, documenting chargeable supplies, and completing responsibilities promptly. Job Specifications Minimum Education: Licensed RN in the state of Missouri. Work Conditions: May be exposed to blood‑borne diseases, accidents, injuries, and illnesses; subject to irregular hours and crisis situations. Physical Requirements: May involve prolonged standing, walking, lifting, positioning, and transfer of patients, as well as reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
