Automation Specialist I - First or Second Shift

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Automation Specialist I to maintain and support automated laboratory instrumentation in a clinical research setting. The role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, script development, and collaboration with lab personnel in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scheduled maintenance for automated instrumentation with periodic supervision
• Perform routine hardware replacements and develop troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues
• Assist in liquid class testing, labware creation, and implementation of new scripts through developmental testing
• Respond to and support lab personnel with error handling for automated equipment
• Program or revise scripts of low to moderate complexity and develop documentation per SOPs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification
• 1+ years of experience with laboratory instrumentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Programming experience with Hamilton Venus, TECAN EVOware, Fluent Control, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong understanding and independent application of GMP and GLP standards
• Time management and self-direction with ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to lift 15-50 lbs and work standing for extended periods

Compensation: $24.00–$30.00 hourly; variable annual bonus eligible
