Senior Product Designer / UX/UI Designer

Our homepage illustration changes with the calendar. You’ll be the fourth Classmate and our only designer. We’re looking for a hands‑on senior designer with strong visual design and UI/UX skills. Class Central has helped more than 100 million learners find their next course. We’re learners ourselves. Over the years, Classmates have completed more than 400 online courses and three online degrees. Our publication, The Report , covers the industry in depth. Our product has yet to catch up with what we’ve learned. We’re rethinking Class Central, from the product we have today to new products that help people learn. You’ll help shape that direction and own the user experience and visual identity. Discover The Report Our publication. Course guides, and reporting on the business of online education. Learn Now we want to help people learn too. Experimental, at the ideation stage. Initially, Discover will take most of your time, with occasional work on marketing materials. How Classmates Work We’re bootstrapped and profitable, which lets us keep building on our own terms. Our goal is make online education work for everyone. We take the learner’s side, even when it costsus. We’re a fully remote team. We work mostly asynchronously across time zones and meet on a video call once a week. These principles guide how we work. Be the Learner Stay enrolled. Experience what our learners experience. Use those experiences to improve Class Central. Choose Your Course We’re a small team. We punch above our weight by choosing what matters. Ship to Learn Put our work in front of learners. See what works, learn from it, and make it better. Aim for Mastery Develop deep expertise. Set the standard others follow. Our best work is always ahead of us. You should have experience designing and shipping digital products, with strong skills in both visual design and UI/UX. Your work should show care for typography, layout, navigation, and interactions. You should be comfortable developing a visual identity and applying it across our website, products, and marketing materials. You can take an idea through exploration, detailed design, and implementation with our engineer. You can work independently, explain your decisions, and ask questions when needed. You design for different screen sizes, understand accessibility basics, and check whether people can use what you design. Strong product judgment is a plus: identifying problems worth solving, deciding what to prioritize, and using research and data to guide decisions and evaluate results. Experience in ecommerce, marketplaces, or online education would be useful, as would working in a small team. Illustration and other graphic design skills are a plus. Your portfolio and a resume or LinkedIn profile. One or two projects from your portfolio, with a short note on your role in each. Graphics or illustration work is welcome too. Something you’ve learned recently, and how you went about it. We’re looking for an individual to join the team. No agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr Class Central
