Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Job Description A Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports day‑to‑day operations of a plasma collection center. The role is focused on ensuring donor safety, eligibility, and compliance with plasma collection regulations. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, self‑exclusion, medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and serologic testing. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate responses as outlined in SOPs. Review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable results, and coordinate follow‑up care. Refer medical or technical concerns to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed. Support environmental, health and safety (EHS) requirements and follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs. Assist with Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements for occupational health or EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements. Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training program. Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
