Job Title: Associate Account Manager– Employee Benefits Location: Jenison, MI Hybrid Department: Employee Benefits Reports To: EB Manager Position Overview The Associate Account Manager plays a key role in supporting our account management team who serve small to mid‑sized clients (2–250 employees). This position focuses on the operational and technical work that keeps client benefit programs running efficiently, with an emphasis on quoting, compliance, and accuracy. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and looking to grow within the employee benefits field. Key Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day support to a team of Account Managers across a shared book of small to mid‑market clients (2–250 lives) Assist with quoting and renewal processes, including gathering census data, submitting to carriers, and organizing plan options Prepare and review benefit comparisons and proposal materials for accuracy and completeness Compile and maintain compliance materials, including required notices and regulatory documentation (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA) Maintain accurate client records, files, and internal systems Coordinate with carriers and vendors to obtain quotes, track submissions, and resolve discrepancies Support open enrollment preparation by organizing materials and ensuring deadlines are met Assist with reporting, audits, and quality control to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance Collaborate closely with Account Managers to support client deliverables and timeline Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, or a related support role Basic understanding of group benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications Preferred Qualifications Life & Health insurance license (or willingness to obtain) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred Experience with benefits administration platforms and Applied EPIC Familiarity with compliance requirements such as ERISA, ACA, and COBRA Our Core Values A Spirit of Excellence – We embrace change as an opportunity to grow A Servant’s Heart – We put others first even when it doesn’t benefit us A Champion’s Resolve – We find ways to solve the problem Career Development This role provides a strong foundation for advancement into an Account Manager position, with hands‑on experience supporting a high‑volume, small to mid‑market client base.
