Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview An entry-level Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered hemodialysis care. Collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment, including delegation of tasks to care staff. Participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Performs patient assessments and documents data before, during, and after dialysis treatments, adjusting plans as needed. Provides patient and family education on treatment options and care plans. Administers medications and responds to emergencies, ensuring safety and efficacy. Supervises daily dialysis procedures, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensures proper laboratory procedures and coordinates patient education and care updates. Participates in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current state licensure. CPR/BLS certification required. Less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; hemodialysis experience preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, moving patients, and prolonged standing. Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. Additional Details The role involves physical demands typical of healthcare settings, including assisting with patient mobility and handling equipment. Supervisory responsibilities include oversight of care staff after training and experience requirements are met.
