Sole In-House Healthcare Technology Attorney

Latitude is seeking an experienced in-house attorney to join a private equity-backed, growth-stage healthcare technology company as its first legal hire and sole in-house attorney. Interested candidates should have at least 8 years of experience, both at law firms and in-house, and prior in-house experience at a SaaS healthcare technology company. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded operator who has previously owned an in-house legal function (or served as a strong second-in-command). Excellent academic credentials, pragmatic commercial judgment, and strong communication skills are a must. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in any U.S. state. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities for the In-House Healthcare Attorney:

• Take ownership of end-to-end commercial contracting, including customer, Payer/MCO, vendor, and partner agreements
• Working with Sales Operations and Revenue Operations, define and build out the contracting playbook, template library, fallback positions, and approval matrix
• Stand up or materially improve legal ops infrastructure, including CLM/contract repository, CRM integration and workflow, and AI-assisted review
• Working with relevant internal stakeholders, own the compliance framework, including obligations inventory, assigned business owners, controls, monitoring, and documentation
• Bring the majority of routine corporate and generalist work in-house, reserving outside counsel for genuinely complex matters
• Establish the company’s position, standard terms, and review approach for AI and customer data use as AI capabilities are introduced into products

Requirements for the In-House Healthcare Attorney:

• At least 8 years of legal experience, both in law firms and in-house
• Licensed to practice and in good standing in any U.S. state
• In-house experience at a PE-backed, growth-stage SaaS healthcare technology company
• Prior ownership of a legal function preferred; strong second-in-command candidates ready to step up will be considered
• Demonstrated experience with commercial contracting, Payer/MCO negotiations, legal ops buildout, HIPAA, healthcare data and BAAs, AI and data use in a product context, corporate generalist matters, owning a compliance framework end-to-end
• J.D. from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
• Pragmatic commercial judgment, with a bias toward unblocking the business rather than gatekeeping it
• Comfortable operating hands-on in a fast-paced environment with limited support

Compensation

• Pay : The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $230,000. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
• Benefits : In addition to pay, a competitive benefits package is also provided, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) and generous leave policies.
