Ryerson offers a dynamic, quality-focused, environment, ideal for advancing your career and making your mark in the metals industry.As a Warehouse Operator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and production on the shop floor.Roles and ResponsibilitiesPulling and staging feedstock for production ordersBreaking down bulk bundles for customer specific ordersPackaging of material to customer requirementsDaily machine operation to produce parts to customer specificationsWork order confirmation on computerOperating an overhead crane, forklift, and side loader to move material as neededTruck loading/unloadingAll other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeRequirementsSuccessfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skillsSome experience working in a warehouse and manufacturing settingForklift/side-loader experience preferredAbility to safely operate the Overhead crane preferredMust be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand toolsBasic computer skills and/or comfort using a computerPhysical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobilitySuccessful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboardingA starting hourly rate higher than $25.15 hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier.
