Some of the most important moments in dementia care happen quietly.

Our caregivers notice these things.

• A resident wakes up confused and frightened
• Someone who cannot explain discomfort becomes restless
• A subtle change in walking, breathing, appetite, sleep, or behavior may be the first sign that something is wrong

We are looking for calm, attentive caregivers who understand that care is not simply “watching.”

Our team is active, engaged, and highly observant, helping vulnerable residents feel safe, reassured, comfortable, and known. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and genuinely respectful.

Schedule

This is a part-time caregiver position with a regular every-other-weekend schedule.

Available Shifts May Include

• 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
• 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Additional PRN day, evening, and overnight shifts may also be available based on staffing needs. Applicants should be reliable, punctual, and able to commit consistently to the every-other-weekend schedule.

What You’ll Do

Provide hands-on ADL and emotional support for residents living with dementia and other cognitive impairments.

• Assist with toileting, repositioning, hygiene, continence care, mobility, transfers, showering, eating, and other activities of daily living
• Monitor and respond to changes in condition, behavior, comfort, gait, sleep patterns, or alertness
• Respond promptly, calmly, and reassuringly to resident needs
• Help prevent falls and reduce confusion or agitation
• Support residents with reassurance, redirection, companionship, and a calming presence
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Communicate observations clearly to leadership, the nurse on duty, and the incoming shift
• Document care accurately and thoroughly
• Work collaboratively with nurses and caregivers as part of an integrated care team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including assisting residents with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and mobility, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role may require lifting or assisting with up to 50 pounds.
• This role is on-site in Rockville, MD, in our specialized, boutique memory care home limited to 16 residents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in memory care, assisted living, skilled nursing, home care, or healthcare preferred
• Experience working with residents with dementia or cognitive impairment preferred
• CNA/GNA certification welcomed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
