Makeship empowers influencers, creators, and brands of all sizes to develop and launch limited-edition products that matter to their fans. Each product is given a window of 21 days to be funded by the community before we produce and ship to fans worldwide. We're looking for a product designer to create intuitive, valuable, and visually engaging experiences for fans looking to support the creators they love. Working within a cross-functional team alongside product and engineering, you'll play a key role across the full product development cycle, from problem discovery and solution design to validation and final execution. Balancing research, ideation, and high-fidelity execution, you'll focus on our fan-facing platform, ensuring every interaction is seamless, impactful, and aligned with Makeship's mission.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Design valuable and usable experiences from ideation through to production-ready designs
• Follow fundamentals of good UI design to create polished interfaces across all devices
• Base design decisions on layout, hierarchy, typography, color, and motion with strong rationale
• Contribute to and help maintain our design system as the platform evolves
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate assumptions and inform design decisions
• Partner closely with product, engineering, and brand to ship a cohesive, high-quality product
• Proactively identify usability issues, both small and large, and propose solutions

What you bring includes:

• 3+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of design solutions
• Experience with user research and usability testing techniques (e.g. user interviews, usability testing, assumption testing)
• Strong UI craft, with an eye for layout, typography, and visual polish
• Experience working within and contributing to a design system
• Comfort collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing
• Experience designing B2C products, ideally involving content discovery, browsing, or shopping-style experiences

Bonus:

• Experience in e-commerce or crowdfunding

Salary band: $85-100k CAD per annum. Individual salaries will be dependent on unique skills, experience, and qualifications.
