Summary/Objective
The Quality Control Specialist in the Scale Shop inspects materials, components, weldments, and finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and quality requirements. The role performs incoming, first-article, in-process, and final inspections, documents inspection results, non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions.

• Inspect scale materials, components, assemblies, and finished product for conformance to specifications
• Identify and document nonconformances such as cracks, pits, incomplete welds, and other quality defects
• Perform incoming, first-article, in-process, and final inspections
• Maintain quality records and inspection documentation
• Assist in disposition of nonconforming material and coordinate corrective actions
• Review blueprints, bills of material, routers, and engineering documentation for accuracy
• Support calibration activities for inspection and measuring equipment
• Utilize measurement tools such as height gauges, surface testers, and calipers

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of MIG welding processes, structural steel fabrication, surface preparation and industrial paint applications, mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, multi-level bills of material, routers, assembly instructions and test procedures.
• Able to use testing and measurement equipment to inspect product and identify welding defects, paint defects, nonconforming materials & dimensional discrepancies.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Quality control experience in industrial equipment manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of heavy-duty scales, load cells, and digital weight indicators
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to inspect large truck scale structures both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work around welding, fabrication, paint, and assembly operations while wearing required PPE.
• Ability to safely access truck scale weighbridges & elevated work areas when required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday. Hours to be determined.
