We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Associate Attorney who is results-oriented, proactive, accountable, and genuinely invested in being part of a team. This new addition to the team will be a proactive problem-solver who can work independently without micromanagement in a fast-paced environment. Our attorneys have significant autonomy and independence within a clear framework of KPIs and expectations. To learn more, visit our website: PTO + holidays Employer covers 50% of health insurance costs for employees and dependents Optional enrollment for vision, dental and life insurance for employees and dependents 401(k) with Regular and Roth options, matching up to 5% (3% at 100% + 2% at 50%) A flexible schedule when KPIs are met Annual trip for the employee + one guest when KPIs are met Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of 70-110 personal injury cases in pre-litigation and litigation Develop case strategy and proactively move cases toward the best possible outcomes Maintain proactive communication with clients to ensure they understand their case status and strategy Draft and review demands, pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence Conduct and defend depositions and attend mediations, court hearings, settlement conferences, and other proceedings Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel to maximize client recovery Identify potential issues, risks, and opportunities and address them efficientlyCollaborate with paralegals, case managers, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure cases move efficiently and deadlines are met Use AI, technology, and firm systems to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality and consistency of legal work Proactively anticipate case needs and project future results based on case maturity, rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen next Work within established KPIs and take ownership of achieving measurable results Requirements: A JD + an active California Bar license 1+ year of personal injury experience Strong written/verbal communication skills and sense of ownership/accountability The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines An understanding of how to track, and work toward KPIs and measurable results A strong understanding of both the importance of results and the importance of culture An ability to communicate clearly and effectively to keep cases moving forward Open to learning and using AI tools and other technology to improve efficiency Bonus Experience: Spanish speaking Experience with Litify and/or Eve Experience using Microsoft Teams Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not representative of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
