Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Community Clinic Psychiatric

Position Summary We are seeking a psychiatric outpatient clinical APP (PMHNP or PA) to work under the supervision of a WashU Psychiatrist. As an APP at WashU, you’ll be a critical part of our clinical team, serving the mental-healthcare needs of our clients. This role offers telemedicine and in-person flexibility, a collegial work environment, modern offices, and full administrative support. Direct outpatient psychiatric care is provided for a minimum of 36 hours per 40‑hour work week. Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary with uncapped productivity-driven bonuses. Responsibilities Provide direct outpatient psychiatric care to patients for a minimum of 36 hours per 40‑hour work week. Focus on clinical care of patients with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for assigned patients. Prescribe and monitor medication. Provide referrals for additional treatment needs. Offer psychotherapy as needed. Document, monitor, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of patient medical records; maintain required reports, statistics, and other documentation. Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with clinic/hospital standards. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Participate in educational programs, literature reviews, in-service meetings, and workshops to enhance professional growth. Function under a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a physician. Working Conditions Job location may require travel to other sites. The setting includes normal office environment, exposure to blood-borne pathogens and chemicals, protective devices, and other elements. Physical effort may involve sitting at a desk, standing or walking, bending, crouching, stooping, using tools that require high dexterity, and occasional lifting (≤25 lb). Required Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) – Nurse Practitioner. APN licensure in Illinois or Missouri, or ability to obtain licensure within 3 months of hire. DEA registration and BNDD registration. Basic Life Support certification (certified online only is insufficient). Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of diagnosis, evaluation, and medication management experience as PMHNP or psychiatric PA in an outpatient setting. Experience in both medication management and psychotherapy. Outpatient mental- health experience with children, adolescents, and adults. Experience with adults across the lifespan; preference for diverse populations. Illinois APN licensure candidates. Salary $93,300 – $167,800 annually (base salary; individual rates based on qualifications, performance, market, and department budget).
